For correct MLA style you must

v     Double-space between the title “Work Cited” and the first entry.

v     Begin each entry flush with the left margin; if an entry runs more than one line, indent the subsequent line(s) five spaces from the left margin.

v     Double-space the entire list, both between and within entries.

v     Alphabetize entries by the author’s last name or by title (excluding initial words A and The) if the author is unknown.

How to Use Noodletools

An easy way to write your Works Cited page!

 

 

Go to http://www.noodletools.com/

 

u    Click on NoodleBib Express (Under Free Tools)

 

u    Click on MLA

 

u    Select a citation type from the arrow down menu

 

v     Example: You have chosen a book as the citation type:

§         On the next page, click next

§         On the next page, check “Print”, then click next

§         On the next page, click next

§         On the next page, type in the information they want:

Ø      Make sure to capitalize the words that should be capitalized. Click add after author’s name.

Ø      Fill in as much information as you can

Ø      Click “Generate Citation” at the bottom

After you make your citation, copy and paste it onto a Word document,

then you need to change a few things:

 

  • Write Works Cited at the top of the document, centered.
  • Double-space the whole document
  • Indent the 2nd (and 3rd, 4th, etc, if necessary) line of each citation
  • Change the font to Times New Roman
  • Alphabetize the list by the author’s last name
